I'm glad to see the pack growing :)

Once again I'd like to thank wud for putting this together. I think it's served it's purpose very well in getting people motivated enough to stop planning and start building. Thanks man!

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with my 2nd build. Is there an entry fee, or do I just set up a thread and start posting?

No charge, Lee, but there is one member who might try to exhort a goat from you! Just humour him - thats what the rest of us do! Welcome to the challenge! [:Y:]

One goat?
How did you get away with one goat?

And by the way, it's not extortion... it's "protection"... I was assured that there would be no cracks, splits, marks, or burns in my guitar if said member was duly appeased!

(which is why I haven't started my guitar yet - I haven't found a goat of the proper persuasion)

I'd love to get in the challenge!
First build really, although I have built a guitar body (not the neck).............I have no chance of wining this but it would oblige me to finish a guitar. I still haven't painted the body I made, so I will paint that one, post it (not part of the challenge), and then start on not 1 but 2 guitars. My rules are; finish, fInish, fIniSH, FINISH!
I hope I'm still in time,
regards - R.

Yes you can jump in , however , you have to make a decision WHICH build is your challenge build and stick to that one . Start your thread and let her rip ! [:Y:]

Thank you Big Jim, all of us who enter will win experience and the joy of building a real instrument; a guitar.
Before deciding which is for the challenge I'd better start building laughing6-hehe .

Count me in.

I finished my first build and posted a bit about it in the kit build section.

I've just started build two and will use that for this challenge. It's a mahagony OM kit build. I'll get posting some pics ASAP.

I learned a ton from build #1 and am looking forward to this build too!

Ok I'm in, count me as a competitor for 2013 as I'm building my acoustic number 3 now (Mahogany Spruce) and will be building no 4 later ( Rosewood Spruce.
There are no luthiers near me so it's just me and my workshop shed against the world!

Hooway!

Go band saw, go band saw, go saw go!

I don't know who you are talking about. I wonder who this goat loving member is? It can't be me because I am all stocked up on goats and goat memorabilia and have no need of more.

Dave, don't despair!! "The second will be those who have 1 or 2 builds under their belt . Please specify in your first post what your building and if its your 1st , 2nd , 3rd build . " You're still in, if this is your third build! Sharpen those tools, and get back to work!

Alex

Would love to throw my hat into the ring. I am in the middle of my first build and have been for three years. With the umpteen jig builds, the crash and a move rendering me without a shop for a year and a half, it seems like I am no longer new to guitar building. I am close to having my new shop set up and am excited about continuing on.

I am not sure of policy but either way I love this thread and will follow it till the end. Good luck to all!

If you wish to build another , yes , but the one you finished wouldnt qualify . Therefore you would be in the 2nd guitar build catagory
